Behind the Lens: Capturing Victoria and Mark’s Love Story
As a wedding photographer, I live for moments like Victoria and Mark’s special day. Their August wedding at Penryn Park was nothing short of magical, filled with laughter, love, and baby blue accents amidst vibrant florals.
From the moment I arrived, the day unfolded in a beautiful harmony of nerves (the good kind!), excitement, and love. With bridal parties bustling in their respective suites, hair and makeup artists (Salon Blunt + Magnificent Makeup)worked their magic, while I captured those candid, behind-the-scenes moments that are so full of excitement.
The first look between Victoria and her bridesmaids on the balcony was one of my favourite moments of the day. The pure joy and anticipation from the girls, dressed in their gowns, made for such heartwarming shots. We moved from there to some stunning solo bridal portraits around the mansion, where Victoria absolutely glowed!
Mark and his groomsmen were equally fun to shoot! We ventured around the grounds of the venue, capturing some laid-back, candid moments of the guys as they enjoyed the day. The bond between the group was palpable, making every photo feel natural and effortless. Such a fun and kind group!
One thing that stood out to me throughout the day was how deeply connected Victoria and Mark were with their families. The love and support from everyone, from their parents to their extended families, was evident in every hug, laugh, and tear. I made sure to capture a variety of family group shots—moments with both sides, siblings, and even adorable moments with Victoria’s grandmother and Mark’s brothers and brother in laws.
The ceremony itself, set in Penryn’s tent. With wine barrels adorned with flowers, and the couple surrounded by their loved ones, it felt like a dream. As they exchanged vows, the emotion in the air was palpable, and I was there to capture every tear, and every smile.
During the cocktail hour, I took a few moments to steal the newlyweds away for some intimate shots around the venue. The light during this time was perfect, creating a soft glow around them as they soaked in their first moments as husband and wife.
The reception? Pure fun! With signature cocktails, heartfelt speeches, and a lively dance floor, the celebration continued well into the night. This group knows how to cut a rug and have fun on the dancefloor! Victoria and Mark's sparkler send-off was the cherry on top—a perfect end to a perfect day.
Every wedding has its own unique rhythm, and Victoria and Mark’s was filled with love, laughter, and a whole lot of joy. I’m so grateful to have been a part of their journey, capturing memories that they’ll treasure forever.
