Victoria + Mark Engagement Shoot

I drove 2 hours up north to Mark’s Grampa’s cottage in Bancroft, Ontario for an engagement session. This location is extra special to Victoria and Mark because this is where they got engaged! The cottage is where they spend time with family and friends, enjoying the wildlife and calmness of this private little lake.

This one hour turned two-hour shoot (lol - we were having so much fun and lost track of time) turned into quite the adventure! We did all of their favourite things! Drinking champagne on the dock, dancing in the street, soaking up the sun and even going for a little boat ride. I had so much fun getting to know these two love birds.

I have the pleasure of photographing their wedding day next year! I really appreciate spending time with my couples before their big day so I can understand their dynamics as a couple, but also as individuals! Establishing a connection between me and my couples is important, I feel less like a vendor and more like a cousin of the wedding couple, I’m so invested in their love story and how to properly tell it.

Side note, I did get in the lake to get some shots - the water was SO NICE! …I didn’t really want to get out but we had to move on to the next spot LOL
